We Are Not Ourselves is an adventure booklet made for the sci-fi horror tabletop RPG, Mothership. I wrote and designed the adventure before publishing it on itch.io with hand-drawn illustrations and page designs. I was inspired by my time at PAX Unplugged to make this piece. Namely, I was inspired by an indie TTRPG called Pirate Borg. The book had stunning visuals, and the information was laid out in boldly artistic ways. However, a lot of the text was super hard to read and inaccessible. I set out to make a short booklet that was both artistic in its display of information and accessible. I used dyslexia friendly fonts, laying out my design in Canva and making illustrations in Clip Studio Paint.
Achievements:
- Ran 3 separate sessions for a total of 9 players -twice professionally, observing reactions and tweaking the experience accordingly for subsequent runs.
- The final PDF sits at over 80 downloads on itch.io, with a separate professional GM running the game for a group of players.
