Polyphemus is a caving inspired horror game with a unique, diegetic movement mechanic. Players must physically drag themselves through caverns and tunnels using their mouse. The visual artstyle is a combination of new and retro aesthetics. I use compositing to edit photographs – ones taken by myself or free-use images found online – and create a “digitized sprite” look prominent in popular retro games like the original Mortal Kombat and Doom. I use photographs .
This game is currently still in development using the Godot game engine, but the prototype was originally made for the Spring 2025 VT Game Development Club Game Jam competition and won the prize of Best Mechanics.
